THE BEEF COMMUNITY UNITED AGAINST HUNGER
When the beef communities in Idaho and Washington learned of the severe shortage of high-quality protein donations at the local food banks, they took action by creating the Beef Counts Program.
Since 2010, through community donations, Beef Counts has provided over 2 million servings of zinc, iron and protein-rich beef to those in our communities that need it most.
Protein is critical to a healthy and well-balanced diet, especially for the development and strength of children and seniors.
Many beef community members are fortunate, having beef on their tables year-round, and wanted to be able to share this gift with those who may otherwise go without.
Despite our efforts, 1 in 6 people in Idaho and 1 in 8 people in Washington still struggle with hunger.
Please consider joining Idaho and Washington's beef ranchers and farmers in the effort to eliminate hunger in our Northwest communities.
